Nurse Practitioner
Paula Rood began her nursing career over two decades ago. Her experience started in North Carolina as a First Assist in the operating room within a reconstructive plastic surgery group, where she developed a strong foundation in surgical care and dermatology. After moving to California in 2003, Paula expanded her expertise in aesthetic medicine, including injectable fillers, neuromodulators such as Botox and Dysport, lasers, and other advanced modalities, while also providing comprehensive general dermatology care.
Paula works with every patient to create an optimal, natural, and refreshed look while also prioritizing overall skin health. Patients can expect a personalized treatment plan that integrates medical and aesthetic therapies. Her comprehensive approach has earned her a loyal following. In addition, Paula has trained practitioners across the U.S. in injectables, lasers, and dermatologic best practices for major aesthetic companies. She authored “The Complete Guide to Compliance in the Aesthetic Practice,” a resource for professionals navigating the complexities of aesthetic medicine, and founded the Northern California Aesthetic Nurses Association to support peer collaboration and best practices. Paula holds a Master of Science in Nursing from Spring Arbor University, along with certifications in aesthetic medicine, laser safety, and medical compliance. She is a retired Commissioned Officer Army veteran, having served 23 years in the U.S. Army. In her spare time, Paula enjoys hiking, skiing, Pilates, traveling, and spending time with her bunny.
