BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dysport® Injectables

Botox and Dysport are quick, easy, and painless. None of these treatments are invasive and all result in a significant reduction of fine lines and wrinkles.

What Are BOTOX® and Dysport®?

Botox® and Dysport® are popular neurotoxins. These treatments work by blocking muscle contractions using a compound called Botulinum A. These neurotoxin injections are commonly used for reducing wrinkles caused by facial movements such as frown lines. Dysport® reduces the appearance of lines that primarily affect the glabella, the area in between your eyebrows that extend vertically toward the forehead. Botox® is approved for treating forehead lines and crow’s feet as well as glabella lines.

How Do These Treatments Work?

Botox® and Dysport® are popular neurotoxins. These treatments work by blocking muscle contractions using a compound called Botulinum A. These neurotoxin injections are commonly used for reducing wrinkles caused by movement such as frown lines. After the consultation, the actual injection procedure takes about 15 minutes. No downtime is required after the treatment, meaning you can have it done during your lunch break! Neither Botox® nor Dysport® result in discoloration – your results will look natural, allowing you to maintain discretion. No anesthetic is needed for the injection. A few tiny injections of Botox® or Dysport® are administered directly into the muscles that cause wrinkles.

Who Are These Treatments For?

Botox® and Dysport® are for those who want to maintain a youthful look. Many people desire to do this due to the natural loss of collagen we endure as we age. Such options are great for those who want non-invasive treatment options for smooth skin. Dysport is meant for those who have either moderate or severe cases of glabella lines, not for mild cases. Botox is approved for treating forehead lines and crow’s feet as well as glabella lines. Botox® is fine for mild cases of wrinkles, and is also often done as a preventative measure to keep lines and wrinkles from getting deeper. We also use Botox to treat excessive sweating also referred to as hyperhidrosis.

What to Expect From Botox® and Dysport®

Botox® and Dysport® are quick, easy, and painless. During treatments, a series of small shots are injected into the targeted muscles. A precise amount of product is carefully placed into each site for maximum, lasting results. The procedures take 10-15 minutes, and there is no downtime. A topical anesthetic may be applied to your skin to minimize discomfort during your treatment. The short procedure results in small areas of swelling lasting 20-30 minutes with relaxation of the muscles treated, typically lasting 4-6 months.* The discomfort associated with this procedure is minimal since Dr. Tanghetti is an accomplished injector. The products’ effects usually last from 4-6 months,* after which we generally recommend reinjections.
